FAQ

What is a pip?

A pip is the smallest standard price increment for an instrument. For most forex pairs that's 0.0001; for JPY-pairs it's 0.01; for gold (XAUUSD) it's 0.1; for indices it's typically 1 point.

How is pip value calculated?

Pip value (in quote currency) = pip size × contract size × lots. Convert to your account currency by multiplying with the quote→account FX rate.

What's the pip value of 1 standard lot on EURUSD?

0.0001 × 100,000 = $10 per pip. For 0.10 lots (mini) it's $1. For 0.01 lots (micro) it's $0.10.
